How the Scoring works

There are 3 phases of competition, each counting for ⅓ of your score; Interview (33%), Fitness (33%) & Evening Gown (33%).

INTERVIEW The judges will spend time with each delegate. They will seek a young woman capable of expressing herself clearly, intelligently, and confidently. This is the contestant’s opportunity to impress the judges with their opinions, ability to communicate, and an overall sense of self. They are not looking for rehearsed answers. Attention is focused on  her poise, charm, self – confidence and her ability to communicate, as well as the substance of her answers.  Interviews are comfortable and conversational.  Contestants are judged on their communication skills and personality.

FITNESS – Miss delegates compete in a swimsuit; Teen delegates compete in activewear. Attention is focused on the delegates figure, physical fitness and the confidence with which each contestant carries herself. Numerical measurements are not considered in the judging.  Each contestant is evaluated on her physical fitness, stage presence, and overall impression.

EVENING GOWN – Each delegate wears a gown she has chosen for herself. Attention is focused on the contestant’s overall appearance, self-confidence, sense of style and the beauty she brings to the gown of her choice.  Each contestant is evaluated on her grace, poise, style, stage presence, and overall confidence.
